On-line Course: Introduction to genomic medicine

The new academic methods of flexible or distance continuous education that strengthen self-apprenticeship and the use of new technologies of information and communication, partially compensate the adverse conditions of labor in our country, that difficult the attendance at long courses.
The complex and vertiginous production of biomedical knowledge and the transformations of genomic medicine difficult a true integration into the mainstream of medicine due to scarce information of the Uruguayan physicians. We describe the first online course and experience in our milieu on genomic medicine, addressed to diverse specialists. Results and conclusions are commented in order to wide continuous medical education alternatives in the dawn of the XXI Century. We focused on the development of information technology and communicational tools to learn, research and interact in groups, with information sources. Strategies are important to clinical researches and biomedical practices in the new genetic era.
