Vol. 37 No. Supl 1 (2021): Revista Médica del Uruguay: special supplement on COVID-19

This supplement constitutes an effort of the Medical Union of Uruguay and the Medical Journal of Uruguay to make available to the medical staff an important compilation of guidelines for the approach to patients with COVID 19 disease at the different levels of care. The needs imposed by the situation of the epidemic in Uruguay made its rapid dissemination a priority over the requirements of the ordinary publications of the Medical Journal of Uruguay. Consequently, the elaboration and the contents are the authorship and responsibility of the authors, the scientific societies and the chairs of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of the Republic that are mentioned in each section. The Uruguayan Medical Union and the Uruguayan Medical Journal are pleased to have contributed to the publication of this valuable information in order to make it accessible in a timely manner for all Uruguayan health personnel.
