Abstract

The present issue of the Medical Journal of Uruguay includes a detailed report prepared by technicians of the Center for the Research of the Epidemic of Smoking (CIET) on the impact of the prohibition of smoking in public spaces in relation to income from acute myocardial infarction .
The research results are overwhelming and the article does not need presentation. Little, then, can I advance or add about it.
In any case, once again express my appreciation to CIET and also invite the colleagues and readers of this publication to persevere in smoking control policies.
